Confirmed claims indicate that a former military administrator of Rivers state, retired Brigadier General Anthony Ukpo, has passed on.
Daily Trust reports that Brigadier General Anthony Ukpo died in the morning of Monday, September 6.

Recently, two of his elder siblings, Madam Lydia Ukpo in the USA and Archbishop Joseph Edra Ukpo, passed on.
Anyogu revealed that Ukpo died in the morning at an undisclosed hospital after a protracted sickness.
“I can confirm that the former Milad died this morning. He died in a hospital this morning. It is very sad. Cross River State has lost an asset.”
Former Oyo military administrator Tunji Olurin is dead
Meanwhile, the former military administrator of Oyo state General Tunji Olurin (rtd.) was dead.
Olurin who was a close political ally of former President Olusegun Obasanjo died at Lagos state University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) in the early hours of Saturday, August 21.
He died at the age of aged 77. The news was disclosed by the deceased’s brother, Funso Olurin, in Abeokuta on Saturday.
According to him, Olurin died after a brief illness. Olurin who was also a former military administrator of Ekiti state between from October 8, 2006 until April 27, 2007 hailed from Ilaro in Ogun West Senatorial district of Ogun state.
He was the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the 2011 general election in Ogun state.
Tears as former governor of Kano is reported dead
In another development, it was reported that a former military governor of Kano state (1996 – 1998) Dominic Oneya, was on Thursday, August 5, reported dead at the age of 73 years.
This was announced on Thursday by Abubakar Aminu Ibrahim, the media aide of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.
The retired Nigerian Army general was said to have died in his home in Effurun GRA in the Uvwie local government area of Delta state. AdChoices
